Myke Collins, Jr., a devoted servant of God and seasoned leader in ministry and education, serves as the proud pastor of Monumental Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. His journey of faith began at the age of 8 when he was baptized at Lane Avenue Baptist Church. Answering God’s call to ministry, he was licensed and ordained at Early Grove Baptist Church under the guidance of Reverend Dr. Herman A. Powell, Sr.
A native of Memphis, Rev. Collins earned his education from Christian Brothers University and has dedicated over 28 years to leadership and service. Before stepping into pastoral ministry, he held key roles in education, including principal, Director of Leadership, and Executive Director within Memphis-Shelby County Schools. Known for his visionary leadership and ability to inspire others, Rev. Collins has trained hundreds of leaders and developed impactful initiatives that have shaped communities.
As the pastor of Monumental Baptist Church, Rev. Collins is deeply committed to fostering spiritual growth and advancing the mission of Christ. He seeks to make Monumental a beacon of hope and faith, lovingly known as “The Friendly Church on the Parkway.” Guided by his steadfast faith and a heart for service, he is working to build ministries that uplift, inspire, and invite all to worship and grow in their walk with Christ.
Rev. Collins is also a devoted husband to Malika Mitchell Collins, his partner in life and ministry since their union in 2002. Together, they exemplify a Christ-centered marriage that underscores their shared commitment to faith, family, and community.
With a deep passion for Christian education and a heart attuned to the needs of God’s people, Rev. Collins stands as a shepherd dedicated to leading the Monumental family in proclaiming our heritage, living our legacy, and advancing God’s Kingdom.
